10 Truths of Pregnancy

Talks/ Uncategorized

There is a very misleading attitude amongst women when it comes to pregnancy, which is only made stronger by the Internet in my opinion. The idea of women being these superhero figures that nurture and grow a baby within their bodies for 9 long months only makes them seem even more mystical. The endless blogs, magazines, books and Instagram accounts praising woman for their ability and strength; while looking radiant and put together has made it near impossible to relate to the REALITY of being pregnant.

Italian Touch Cafe (it.)

One of the newer places to eat here in Jeddah has become the cafe/eatery type restaurants. Basically very cutely decorated dining atmospheres that serve up all the things a cafe would have, so extensive coffee and tea menus, as well as huge glass cases filled with delectable pastries and desserts. They  often have a good sized  breakfast/lunch menu  that can be easily eaten throughout the day; an assortment of soups, sandwiches, salads etc. Read more

I was so excited when I found this product on the shelves of the ATTARAH on my latest visit to MEDINA. I couldn’t believe that it was there, I literally yelped in excitement to both my mates and shopkeepers surprise. Green Lipstick also referred to commonly as Magic Lipstick is probably my favourite beauty find in Saudi Arabia. The product is not Saudi- made and is in fact a Taiwanese product dating back decades. The reason why this product is know to be magically is because when applied to lips it rubs on clear and turns lips shades of red. Depending on the person’s natural lip shade and PH the shade of red will differ. For instance on me it applies a deep pinkish-red colour where someone with lighter lips will have a more light pink coverage.

Clarins Travel Beauty Exclusive

It’s been a while since I’ve wanted to try something from the Clarins cosmetic line and have finally gotten around to it. With the quickest and prettiest palette available exclusively to Saudi Arabian Airlines SkySales, yes I bought this mid-air. On a quick flight to Jeddah I am always entertained by the elaborate catalogue of cosmetic products, male and female fragrances and other stuff. It is the best time-killer on a boring flight and trust me the prices on the flight are actually cheaper than retail. It’s like duty-free shopping in-flight and I love it. I also really like that hard to get products in-store here in Saudi Arabia are conveniently available in-flight (like Bobbi Brown). To top it all off most cosmetic lines will have exclusive products for this catalogue so there are several different palettes, kits and deals to be found.

Chanel Hair Perfume

Coco Mademoiselle is one of my all-time favourite perfumes. It just works for me and I have been faithful to it for a while. The latest trend in the perfume world is “hair perfume” basically perfume for your hair. Chanel has jumped on the trend releasing almost all of their top perfumes in “hair perfume” version. At first, I thought this was so stupid, why don’t I just spray my regular perfume in my hair (which I’ve always done) but after using it I think I kinda like it.
