ARAB-FREE HOLIDAY SEARCH

Expat

Being in Saudi has opened my eyes to the reality that people here really like to travel. They may not be jet setters traveling around the world but they definitely like to escape their harsh climates at least yearly.  As many already know ARABS like to do things like other ARABS even when travelling. Meaning they tend to go to places that are highly frequented by other ARABS.
One thing ARABS have in common is that they tend to look for the same things when deciding where to go on vacation; here is a sum up of just that.

ATTARAH: TRADITIONAL BEAUTY SHOP

Beauty
When you first take a glimpse into an ATTARAH you would easily mistaken it for a witchcraft shop. With products stacked floor to ceiling leaving little room to wander around you could only imagine what this place has in store. The questionable dried herbs, grounded powders and mixed oils could have you running for the door.  But trust me it is definitely worth the time and the browse. Spending almost an hour on my first visit; looking at all the products and asking questions I have to say this is definitely a must-see/do for any beauty addict.

FASHKOOL: HAIR OIL HAMMAM

JADAYEL HAIR GROWTH OIL

Beauty
Saudi Beauty
I figured considering I am a closet beauty junkie that I would share a few beauty bits here on the blog. Since living here, one of my favourite things to do is try out regional beauty practices. There is no doubt that Saudi women like to care for themselves, and that being said the beauty business here is massive. But alongside all the popular commercial beauty brands are regional home goodies. Things that have been passed down from generation to generation and work wonders.

DISCOVERING DETROIT CITY

Travel
Detroit, Michigan is not somewhere you would probably place on your top 10 destinations to visit but nonetheless it definitely is a must see. With my older sister currently living in Windsor, Ontario that means Detroit is just a few mins away. The long drive to Windsor , Ontario from Ottawa (my hometown) was a lengthy 10-hours but was definitely worth it once we got to D-town.
There is so much to see and do but I have summed it down to my usual 5 Things, hope you enjoy!
