If you are a resident or future resident in Saudi Arabia then the world of visa application needs to be made clear to you. To sum up the ordeal of getting a visa we will be discussing 3 main visa types; SINGLE EXIT/RE-ENTRY, MULTIPLE & FINAL. Just so we’re on the same page, all these visa types apply to current iqaama holders in Saudi Arabia and do not apply to people pursuing their travels to Saudi Arabia. You need to be here already for these to apply!

Here are the breakdowns of each visa type:

SINGLE EXIT/RE-ENTRY VISA:

This visa is for residents who wish to travel abroad on a single return trip. This visa allows you to leave the country and return 1 time. Once you have returned to the country it is no longer valid.  The visa has an expiry of 3 months and must be used within that time to avoid penalty.

The cost of this visa is 200SAR and is payable to government services. The procedure to obtain the visa can be done within minutes of payment as it is electronically submitted and approved. Your sponsor is responsible and the only one able to request such a visa so you must go through them to get one.

If you do not use your visa within the 3 months and it is not cancelled before the expiry date a penalty of 1000 SAR will be charged to your resident ID. This fine needs to be paid in full before any other visas can be issued.

MULTIPLE VISA:

This visa is the more flexible option for travel,it allows for unlimited entries and exits to/from the country. It is also valid for a lengthy 6 months and is valid up until the expiry date.

The cost of this visa is 500SAR and is payable to government services. The procedure to obtain the visa can be done within minutes of payment as it is electronically submitted and approved. Your sponsor is responsible and the only one able to request such a visa so you must  go through them to get one.

If you do not use your visa within the 6 months and it is not cancelled before the expiry date a penalty of 1000 SAR will be charged to your resident ID. This fine needs to be paid in full before any other visas can be issued.

FINAL EXIT VISA

This visa is meant for individuals who no longer want to reside in Saudi Arabia. This visa is issued to individuals when they would like to make their final departure from Saudi Arabia, this being said they will no longer be granted entry into Saudi Arabia. This is until they are  issued an entirely new visa from their home country.

There is NO cost for this visa, however there are many rules that apply in order to be granted the FINAL EXIT VISA. You cannot have any fines/dues outstanding registered to your iqaama (resident) ID. Your sponsor needs to sign an official waiver declaring both parties are aware and there is a mutual agreement between both parties. Your sponsor will need to pay any outstanding wages and this too is declared on a form that needs to be signed by you before the visa is granted. Lastly your passport will be submitted for final exit stamp approval and then you are finished.

You are granted 30-days to depart the country from the date stamped in your passport. If you do not the punishment is jail time (or severe fines). It is advised that you arrange departure flight as soon as possible once granted the FINAL EXIT VISA.

Hope that helps!
