NEW YORK NOVICE

Travel

nyc-tourist-phto

When you have an adorable nephew that lives in New York then your only “forced” to visit. Of course force is a harsh word to use when talking about vacationing in the Big Apple. Anyhow, NYC was more than we could handle for our short stay but had us craving for a comeback.

The city has so much to offer that you need to visit repeatedly, or just move there to really grasp how much the city has to offer. We tried our best to get as much in as possible, really soaking up that “hipster” lifestyle. Waiting in lines for particularly colourful bagels, to ending up in Queens because of lack of direction I can honestly say that New York is not for the faint of heart. Read more

INDONESIA HOLIDAY REVIEW

Indonesia is one of those places that easily gets forgotten. Especially overshadowed by their own traveller’s destination island of Bali. So commonly is Indonesia forgotten that many people don’t associate the two at all. Often clueless to the fact that Bali is not a country but rather located in the country of Indonesia.
After making my way to Bali I completely understood the utter obsession with the island that is larger than life. It has an exciting of making you wash away all of your stresses and just puts your mind and body in complete ease. It’s popularly known for its 5-star healing resorts and relaxation retreats.
With incredible dining options, over-the-top restaurants, and amazing spas Bali tops my list of places to visit. But to be fair Indonesia has so much to offer, mountainous cities that allow for breathtaking views and chilly weather to coastal regions to busy metropolitan cities. You can get a bit of shopping done at Mangga Dua in Jakarta (Chinatown). If you’re looking for souvenirs, fake designer bags, clothes, electronics or just about anything then this is where you need to visit.
After a too short visit to the lovely country I have photo documented just a bit of what it has to offer…By the way we visited both Puncak and Bali with a short stay in Jakarta. I do recommend you visit if you have the chance. It’s guaranteed to be a great time.  Read more

ARAB APPROVED DESTINATIONS

Travel
clouds-skies-vacation-dreamy
If you’re an expat here in Saudi Arabia like myself the idea of vacation is what keeps most of us going. The idea of boarding a plane and experiencing something other than ArabLand brings a tear to many of our eyes. The only downside that most expats will testify to is that choosing where you end up is just as important to leaving than you may think.

DUBAI GETAWAY OR JUST GET AWAY

Travel

dubai-weekend-saudi-arabia-getaway
Confession? I have never been to Dubai, till now that is. Dubai is like the Middle East’s version of Las Vegas. Somewhere you go to spend your money, live lavish, enjoy yourself, forget yourself and pretty much go into full vacation mode while there. No limits seems to be the rule in Dubai and the bigger the better. Even thou Dubai is an Islamic country that is easily forgotten with malls and nightclubs outnumbering mosques. Abayas are scarce and shorts are common. Dubai has done a terrific job at appealing to foreign visitors, making almost anything attainable in the country; it caters to all.
